Remote Learning

Remote Learning is set by the class teachers via Class DoJo.  Parents can return work and contact teachers through their child's portfolio and direct messaging.  Please note that these are only accessed during school hours and replies will be in line with our communication policy.

The school has recently moved over to Office 365 and therefore is developing its use of Microsoft Teams, which will be used for remote learning in the event of a future local lockdown. This will mean a combination of live, recorded and independent learning may be available dependent on class and key stage.

Other additional learning opportunities are available through the Oak National Academy set of resources:

https://www.thenational.academy/

We will use a number of other resources to support remote learning such as:

  • Phonics Play
  • Twinkl
  • White Rose Maths Hub
  • Deepening Understanding
  • Mentimeter
  • iMoves
  • Discovery espresso
  • Classroom Secrets
  • Pobble365
  • Reading Plus
  • Reading Eggs

In this section is our Remote Learning Policy which describes the expectations of all parties and how and when self directed and school directed learning will take place. It is important that all parents read the policy. We have also developed protocols for pupils and parents when using Teams for remote learning, particularly if anyone is taking part in live lessons.

Remote eduction mirrors exactly what is being taught in school. We teach the same curriculum remotely as we do in school.

We expect that remote education (including remote teaching and independent work) will take pupils broadly the same number of hours as if they were in school.

We recognise that some pupils may not have suitable online access at home. We take the following approaches to support those families:

1. Loaning of laptops or ipads to families

2. Access to printed packs - dropping off and collecting work from the school office.

Teachers will liaise with families who may need support to discover which is preferable for them.

Feedback will be given verbally online or through email, recorded messages or via paper, again dependent on family, class and key stage.

If you are worried about the support your child needs, particularly if they are SEN, again please liaise with your class teacher in the first instance.

Any child or family not engaging with learning, we will contact you to discuss how best we can support you to continue your child's education.

Please use the menu on the left to find your child's class.
